Kit A - the frame
GeoStudios has taken the most difficult part of dome building -the frame cuts- and packaged the pieces in a ready-to-assemble kit. "Kit A" gives you a head start on having your own geodesic dome. All within your budget.
There are 70 colour coded chords in one dome frame kit.
30 A chords
30 B chords
10 A2 chords
The Chords (akin to a typical house stud) are the building blocks of these domes.
Each end is cut to a very sharp point.
This is a typical "arrowhead" cut.
First step is to assemble the chords into A&B pairs, like a Vee.
By the time this step is done you will have paired all chords into 30 Vees.
Then assemble five of these pairs into a circle pattern to create a pentagon.
Then attach the loose ends together.
When complete you will have a stack of 6 pentagons. This makes up a complete dome frame.

IN the summer of 2021 we had a great opportunity to work with some wonderful people on an acreage just outside Creston BC. With a small group of willing volunteers we had that dome frame assembled and erected in no time. When the work involves group learning and team work it's just fun and timeless.
