The Gnome Dome is a 'micro home'. It was built as a response to a need for one-person accomodation in an urban backyard environment but could easily be placed in any location with access to electricity.

The Competition that gave birth to the Gnome Dome
The rules were simple. Create a microhome (no more than 100 sq ft) that has space to sleep for two, will keep you warm in winter, has a toilet, washing facilities and a place to keep food cool. When I saw the entry form I simply knew "I could not NOT do this". So I built the Microdome.
